An update of the first edition of this work, published in 1964 by the University of Bonn, much information has been added regarding the painter’s biography and works, paying special attention to the reconstruction of New Portrait Gallery in the Pardo Palace, rebuilt by Pantoja after the original was destroyed by fire.
