El Cardenal Don Pascual De Aragón Y El Convento De La Purísima Concepción De Madres Capuchinas De Toledo

Author: Juan Nicolau Castro:

The Convent of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción (Our Lady of the Conception), founded by Pascual of Aragon and Cordoba, houses within its walls a veritable treasure trove, with magnificent examples of Flemish painting by Memling and De Vos, Italian works by Zucaro. Cambiaso, Reni, Dolci and Nuvolone, to name but a few, works by Spanish artists such as el Greco, Céspedes, Morales, Hiepes or Claudio Coello, sculpture, luxury art, gold- and silverwork and an interesting collection of Talavera pottery, with pieces of incalculable value.

The work studies the life of its founder, analysing the construction of the building in detail (a work by Bartolomé Zumbigo), but it is, above all, a tour of the artistic heritage the convent contains.
